After seeing the reviews before purchasing, I was a bit skeptical. But I knew what I was getting myself into (knowing that most acupressure shoes are pretty painful if your not used to it). I purchased these shoes after a long, uncomfortable adventure with ski boots on a trip, and I wanted to pamper myself with a way to relax my feet. The first time I tried these shoes, it was painful to walk. But it was totally worth it after a few more tries. I recommend that when you first use them wear socks and only use them for about 5-10 minutes (like byriver says on the box). I like to wear them while sitting down and pressing my feet into it (kinda tapping) for less pain and to ease into it. After continuously wearing them, I now walk around my house (for short periods of time) in them. Lent them to a friend who has chronic pain in her feet, and she loved it so much she got a pair for herself.

These shoes are very effective! These arrived at 7pm, after a long day of being on my feet. I decided not to wait to try them. After putting them I didn’t understand why all the reviews referred to these as painful. At first they felt like thumbs pressing firmly in to my soles. I was worried they wouldn’t help mytired aching feet because they didn’t hurt.Wait for it…… after wearing these for about 10 minutes, without socks, and walking on my carpeted, wood, and tile floors I started to hobble because the pressure was so intense.I’ve only had these for a couple of days and I love them!After wearing them a few different times I notice that different areas of my feet feel the pressure. If you feel uncomfortable wearing these shoes and impossible to walk, you need time and patience. That means your toes and legs are too stressed! Trust me I’ve been wearing acupressure shoes many years and have been trying a bunch of different types. If you feel comfortable at first try, that means you need new pair soon for more pressure.

Not the most comfy but they work!!
I had a really painful case of plantar fasciitis at the insertion (so my pain was in the ball of my foot rather than my heel). I’m a bartender and spend 10+ hours on my feet so this made my everyday activities quite hard to do. I’ve tried everything from rollers to compression socks to little spiky balls to try to relieve the pain but nothing worked UNTIL these amazing sandals. They really aren’t the most comfortable but I can easily wear them without socks and walk around for 10 minutes or so. They completely did away with my plantar pain and have even helped with all the minor aches and pains that have sprouted up over the years. I’m actually writing this review years after purchasing and initially using these and can attest to their power and helpfulness. My pain has completely abated and I routinely wear these for a few min every week or so just to keep everything in check. 100000% recommend!

I am fairly young (27) and wanted to share what my experience has been with these shoes. I purchased them a year ago because I was looking for something that would relieve tension in the muscles in my feet without having to use something painful, such as those rubber balls with spikes on them. I deal with sciatic like symptoms (I am not saying I have sciatica, nor have I been diagnosed with it) in which pain radiates from my lower back through my entire leg and into my feet. Although I use other tension relieving things on the muscles in my lower back, I have found that using these shoes as well helps immensely to relieve pain. The spring loaded pressure points are key and why these shoes work so well. They allow your body to distribute your weight normally as you walk and reaches places in your foot that you did not realize were tense or causing you pain. I would describe the ‘pain’ as relieving, similar to a deep tissue massage. You want to make sure you don’t push it too far in the beginning, as it should never be a sharp pain. And I would recommend always wearing socks with them, even as you are able to wear them for longer periods over time. This helps it feel more like a massage type of thing rather than an assault to tense places in your feet.

These feel amazing to me. I just worked a long day and was excited to get home and put these on. It definitely becomes a painful walk after a while but my body is craving this kind of feeling. Especially when I sit down my foot throbs in a very relaxing way like I did actually get a foot massage. I’m glad I started with these instead of the brown pair but I feel like I’ll get used to these real quick. 10/10 this is what I hoped it would feel like and it doesn’t disappoint. My fiancé and everyone else thinks it hurts but they don’t understand the long term benefits. Will update later after a week or two

I’m a size 13 and these fit alright in the L size. There’s definitely a bit of wiggling around to find the right spots (tips listed below), but I think that’s to be expected. The twist action does dig in nicely, and the spare nubs are nice to have. I don’t find myself using them daily, but every now and then they’re a decent alternative to nagging the girlfriend for a foot massage. Some reviews say they hurt, and I can see for some people they might, but personally as someone that’s often barefoot I find myself standing on one foot to increase the pressure. Overall, they’re worth giving a shot. Better than most self-massage products, but not a substitute for a real massage.A few tips:-standing on them with the straps open, finding your foots placement, then velcroing them works better than guessing the fitment first-socks can make them more comfortable-the nubs are removable and swappable so you can make your own layout-standing on top of a broomstick (or whatever really) helps with getting in the arch area-try using a product like Icy-Hot/ Tigerbalm/ TheragesicPicture: Size L compared to my size 13 Sanuk

They get comfier over time!
Love wearing these slides in the morings or evenings as I am walking around the house doing various chores or getting ready. They hurt at first but you get use to it eventually. It feels like you are giving yourself a massage and pushing all the right pressure points to release any tension. It’s relieving!

Perfect reflexology points
This shoe does an excellent job with the reflexology points. I ordered my shoe size so it fits just as my shoes fit. The first day I could only wear it a couple of minutes because it was quite painful, but it was doing its job. The more I wore it the less painful it became, meaning that it was doing his job and healing what’s going on in my body. Reflexology is not relaxing whatsoever because it supposed to do the pressure points of things that are ailing you. This shoe has been a tremendous help to me. I realize when I wear it I sleep better at night. These photos show that it is hitting certain pressure points for proper reflexology. I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good reflexology massage without having to pee so much money for it.

BIG TIME RELIEF!!!!
These are true to size, great quality, extra foot pebbles included, and very airy. I run a daycare, have ceramic floors, and I’m on my feet all day. My legs are strained. They’ve been looking and feeling it. We have family who live far. So I travel. Leg issues and traveling don’t mix; obviously. I’ve deleoped blood clots in the past and even more extreme; DVT (deep vein thrombosis.) I recently purchased these under the advisement of my yoga instructor. Let me tell you, my feet and legs feel amazing after I’ve worn them for 20-30 minutes at a time. My feet and legs are feeling like I’ve just left the spa. No joke! I had no problems at all with my recent travels. I did not wear them while traveling, only after I got back to the hotel for a bit. These are the real deal! I highly recommend these therapeutic sandals.**** Gradually work your way up in time intervals of wearing these. They are very uncomfortable at first. I promise you will get used to them, and most importantly, look forward to wearing them.

Works to ease tenderness on the bottom of my feet. Recommended!
As many other reviewers have stated, these are painful when you first put them on and walk. But pretty quickly, the pain subsides and you can walk on them with minimal discomfort for extended periods of time. For years, the bottoms of my feet have been so sensitive to touch or massage to the point of real pain for no reason! After wearing these sandals, which I do everyday for 20-60 minutes, my feet feel better all the time. You can see from the photo that they leave an impression on your feet and really dig into the tissue to get at the pressure points. These things really work.

The “good” kind of pain!! :-)
I really love these. Yes, they will hurt at first!! BUT… you can get past that. The first time I could only wear them for about 3 minutes with minimal walking. After just 3 weeks, I can wear them for a solid 15-20 minutes while walking around the house. I need to walk slower than if I had regular slippers/house shoes on, but I can still move around. I’d suggest to start with just wearing them perhaps while in the bathroom getting ready… or standing to chop up vegetables (small area… minimal walking movement.)Note about the SIZE: I have the size Women’s 5-6.5. They fit perfectly and I usually wear 6.5 shoe. They would probably be big for someone who wears size 5 or 5.5.The only negative comment is that after 3 weeks, the stitching in the velcro (on one slipper) started to come undone. So they don’t stay as tight as I’d like and more easily loosen….which makes it harder to walk around. I’ve contacted the company directly and I’m hopeful they will replace the slippers since it’s past the return date since they were a gift and my husband received them 1.5 weeks before giving them to me.UPDATE: The company’s customer service has been great and they are sending are replacement for the slipper mentioned above. Very grateful!!

I purchased the brown sandals which is a ‘ stronger ‘ pressure on the feet.. the blue and grey ones are different colors but the blue and grey options is less stronger for pressure .. the brown sandals has small bumps on top of the knobs on the shoes in quite a few of the knobs…if you want a more vigorous pressure I would recommend the brown one.. I have not tried the other ones so I can’t say the difference…. i felt comfortable wearing this with medium thick socks if I am walking around in them … but even sitting with your feet in the sandals under a table or while doing some online work,, it still gets its effect .. I honestly got used to it after wearing it a few days . I used it every day since I got them … and I find its easier to walk around without being bothered too much . I would not at all wear these to the store .. just because they can get painful . maybe after I get more used to wearing them I might be able to go to the store in them .. but time will tell . right now I wear them around the house .. I do have plantar fasciitis in my right foot .. I have a padding that I have to always have in my arch that I also wear with these sandals but I wear them with all my shoes including my sneakers … so if you have another apparatus that you usually wear for your feet they can be used simultaneously if they fit … I really enjoy knowing that I am stimulating my healing of the nerves and pathways to other parts of my body as well … I think I might try the shoes that have the actual stones next time …
